PLEASE NOTE THAT I’VE MADE SOME SLIGHT CHANGES

It wasn’t until I started to create this About Me page that I realized I don’t have full-body pictures of myself. I always avoid taking them at parties and family gatherings.

I am a married recently separated woman with a beautiful, clever, witty and handsome 12 year old boy. I’ve never been a skinny woman, but I had never been overweight neither. After my son was born in 2001 is when I started putting on the lbs. I’m only 5’2 and my weight had always been a constant 130-135. It seems like a lot for my height, but it really wasn’t considering I come from a family where wide hips and big breasts are genetically passed on from generation to generation. (I’ve always been a DDD cup).

At one point I was at 180 lbs -5 years ago- and at that point I decided I needed to diet, I tried many different kinds of diet, but I refused to exercise. I always had a good excuse to not do it. I was too tired, I was too busy, it was too hot or too cold. And so whatever lbs I lost, would always come back as soon as I stopped dieting.

Last December I met with my best friend from High School  and was shocked when I saw her. Her weight loss was noticeably -she looked so thin!- so I asked her what her secret was. She told me there was really no secret, she had just started to be more active, working out, going to the gym.

I had never, EVER, exercised in my life, so when she offered to start working out with me in the mornings I thought I couldn’t do it. At first I could only last 10 minutes in the treadmill, I would start panting and hurting all over. But I never thought of quitting.

That was January 3rd, the 1st time I ever set foot into a gym. As of today, March 04 2012, April 14 2013, I’ve lost 14 lbs 33 lbs. My starting weight was 180. My current weight is 166 147. Not really following a diet, just making small changes here and there. I did quit all type of sodas and juices altogether. I eat fruits and veggies regularly. I work out regularly. I actually like it now! I feel energized and healthier than ever before.

I created this blog as motivation to keep going. If you are following me is because you already made the best decision of your life: Get fit! Get healthier, not just skinny. You can and will do it! and don’t let the occasional binge stop you. Accept that it will happen at some point in your journey and move on. The important thing is to never give up.

Good Luck to you, if you are reading this. I welcome all and every question. Feel free to ask me anything, I will promptly answer you the best I can and based on MY experiences. I am no doctor and you should ALWAYS follow your physician’s advice first and foremost. Have a great day!
