If you’ve browsed through my page, you’ve noticed I share very little about my personal life. I am very weary of doing this. I’ve been asked for my Facebook account, but that account is reserved for very close friends and family, people who I interact with often and I know face-to-face.
However, I have found this place to be a very comfortable place to share a little more about me. (Not that I think anyone would find my life to be very interesting, lol)
Here are some basic facts about me:
I am 32 yrs old.
I was born in Mexico and came to live here as a legal resident when I was 10.
My primary language is Spanish, the one my parents speak, and the one I feel the most confortable with. However, I am 100% Bilingual.
I live right across the border from Mexico, and have many relatives over there. Things are very bad there with all the drug related crime. No one is safe anymore. Drug lords and civilians die in a - I dare say- daily basis.
I know what being VERY POOR is. There was a time my dad lost his business and we found ourselves with nothing to eat but beans and tortillas. Luckily that lasted less than 6 months. My dad has been a very hard working man all his life and quickly got a job.
I dated a couple of guys before meeting my husband. We married when I was 19 and he was 25.
I have a wonderful, smart, witty, handsome, active 11 year old son, who is the light of my life.
My husband was diagnosed as Bipolar Type 1 five years ago. It has been extremely hard for us. He’ll be medicated for the rest of his life. He’s been hospitalized a number of times already.
I’m the middle child. I have a 36 yr old sister, and a 22 year old brother.
I feel extremely proud of my little brother, who was born when I was 10 yrs old. He graduated with a Bachelors in Biology from UTB and is currently a graduate student (getting masters/doctorate degree) at Harvard Medical School. He’s majoring in Bio Medical Research and is on full scholarship.
I’ve been called fat countless times. But that’s only one of the many reasons I decided to change my lifestyle altogether. Being healthier is the primary one. I wear a DDD cup and my back hurts, I used to get tired easily, I ran out of energy early in the day. Since I started eating healthier and exercising, I’ve lost 15 pounds. I feel better, I don’t get tired anymore, I have lots of energy. My son is the most grateful! I still have 30 more pounds to lose.
I am a hardcore Christian. I believe Jesus died for my sins. I pray daily. My son won’t go outside without me praying for his safe return. I believe everything happens for a reason. I know God has an awesome plan for me and my life. However, I respect all and any religion and beliefs. I won’t engage in any sort of discussion about it. If you respect me, I respect you.
I hope I didn’t bore anyone to death with this. If you have any comments or questions, don’t hesitate to drop me a note. I will happily answer you the best I can.
If you read through all these, you deserve a medal, lol.
God Bless, and Good Luck on your journey!
